Today is international women’s day! To show respect to women that surf, here’s one of the top female surfers who represents women who dominate the surf world:
Steph Gilmore is an Australian professional surfer who started her surfing career in 2005, and won the Roxy Pro Gold Coast at age 17. Known as by her nickname “Happy,” Gilmore won five ASP Women’s World Tour victories in 2008, and ended the season with a Van Hawaiian triple Crown Title. Gilmore became the Australian Legend and one of the most talked about surfers in the world. In 2011 and 2013 she won the ESPN ESPY for Best Female Action Sports Athlete. Steph Gilmore proves that “surfing like a girl” is incredible! All female surfers around the world can continue to shred it up as they knock down barriers for women in the surfing world.
